Dance Central in Balfron was founded by principle Eilidh McRae in August 2011. Now 6 years on we have classes three times a week with pupils studying Ballet, Tap, Modern, Streetdance and Cheerleading. Dance Central is proud of it's 100% pass rate and excellent results in Royal Academy of Dance Ballet exams and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern/Jazz exams which are accredited by the SQA (Scottish Qualifactions Authority).
We offer classes for children from 18 months and for adults including a range of specialist fitness classes. Dance Central have been lucky to perform at the MacRobert Arts Centre in Stirling, Scottish Youth Theatre and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow.
Principal Eilidh McRae RAD RTS ISTD
Eilidh began studying dance at the age of 3 when she studied RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet and ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Modern and Tap.
After many years of hard work, she was awarded a place on Scottish Ballet’s Senior Associate Programme and during this time, she performed in the Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet collaboration production of Massenet’s Cendrillion. It was during this time Eilidh began assisting with classes at her local dance school and soon discovered her desire to share her love of dance with others.
Eilidh went on to study the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance and has graduated as a fully qualified RAD registered teacher. She also gained her DDI teaching qualification with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and is a recognised cheerleading coach with the United Kingdom Cheerleading Association. She is first aid trained and fully disclosure checked.
Eilidh also teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for their weekly dance classes and is a tutor for the specialist spring/summer courses.
For four years, Eilidh was the Dance Associate Artist at Scottish Youth Theatre, Glasgow where she taught weekly dance classes and has choreographed for many of Scottish Youth Theatre's Summer Festival projects. She has worked as a freelance dance tutor for a variety of different organisations including National Theatre Scotland, Stirling Council, Thomas Cook, nurseries and schools.
Eilidh is also a member of the Regional Advisory Committee for the Royal Academy of Dance and is part of the fundraising committee responsible for bringing the Genee International Ballet Competition to Glasgow in 2013.

Feedback from parents and pupils
"Great teacher, with always a smile on. The kids love her and never moan about going which tells it all to me."
"My daughter has been with Dance Central for three years, since she was two years old. She absolutely loves going. Miss Eilidh is a great teacher who has taught my daughter so much over the few years and gave her so much confidence especially at the wonderful dancing displays she has performed at. I would highly recommend Dance Central to any parent."
"My wee girl LOVES Dance Central! Miss Eilidh is truly an inspirational teacher and brings out the sparkle in all the kids she teaches! The two performances at The Royal Conservatoire of Glasgow were an amazing experience and just beautiful from start to finish. We are looking forward to the new term and can't recommend DC highly enough!"
